Fayetteville's Outer Loop (future I-295) continues to take shape.
When finished, the Outer Loop is planned to connect to I-95 above and below Fayetteville (near St. Pauls.) The projected completion date for the entire project is 2020.
Currently, 7-1/2 miles of the Outer Loop are completed. They opened in June 2005. This current stretch connects I-95 to US 401/Ramsey Street, very close to Methodist University.
The stretch currently under construction will connect Bragg Blvd. to Murchison Road. This section is slated for completion in July 2012. Construction connecting Ramsey Street to Muchison Road has been delayed.
