OK, we’ve been pretty cold this January, and exercising in the cold may not be of interest to you. Don’t fret. There are plenty of opportunities to get active indoors – for both kids and adults.

It’s a new year. With a new year, we all make plenty of resolutions – whether it be quit smoking, lose weight, spend more time with our kids, getting more exercise – or one of many others. While I can’t help you reach all of your resolutions, I can point you to some resources in and around Cumberland County that will enable you to outdoors, get some exercise and spend some family time.
Small town Christmas
No doubt about it – there is plenty to do at Christmas time in and around Fayetteville.
I may not need to mention that there are happenings outside of Fayetteville proper that are pretty cool as well. Hope Mills has a weekend choc-full of events this weekend; and I for one, can’t wait.

As part of the Greater Fayetteville Futures I, in 2002,. members of the community selected “History, Heroes and a Hometown Feeling,” as a tagline for Cumberland County. I believe this tagline is a wonderful reflection of the character of our community, and a perfect reflection of what tourists experience.

Weekend Celebrates the Cultural Diversity of Fayetteville Region
Fayetteville and Cumberland County is one of the most diverse communities in the United States. Each year, we celebrate this rich cultural diversity with the International Folk Festival. This year, a weekend of events are planned - and they run from September 25 - September 27.
