Bureau Secures Two Gold Tourism Achievement Awards

Fayetteville- The Fayetteville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (FACVB) received two gold Tourism Achievement Awards at a North Carolina Travel Industry Association (NCTIA) Banquet, held October 30th in Winston-Salem.  The purpose of the Tourism Achievement Awards is to honor and showcase innovation, best practices, creativity and results accomplished through the tourism industry’s marketing efforts.

The Spring Lake Visitor Guide received Gold recognition in the “Best Leisure Marketing” category. The Republik from Durham, NC designed the guide.  View the Spring Lake Visitor Guide here.

In the “Community Stakeholders” category, the bureau’s work in developing a local blogger network and holding meet-ups for community exposure was recognized with a Gold Award.

“Knowing that marketing and tourism professionals from around the country recognized two of our initiatives for their innovation and creativity is humbling,” says John Meroski, FACVB President and CEO. “It proves our CVB is second to none.”

The awards are presented annually by the NCTIA. Judging was conducted by CVB representatives, former chamber presidents and meeting planners and marketing professionals from communities around the country.  Each entry was graded on a sliding point scale system and is evaluated on its own merit and demonstrated success in achieving the stated objectives.
