Bureau Reaccredited through Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI)
Fayetteville (NC) Bureau Receives DMAP Recognition
Cumberland County, NC - Earlier this month, the Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (FACVB) was recognized with reaccreditation through DMAI’s Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP). Developed by Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI), the industry-wide accreditation program distinguishes official destination marketing organizations committed to industry excellence and meeting the industry standard for performance and accountability of destination marketing organizations around the world. The accreditation is good for 8 years.
“To become reaccredited, we had to re-apply for this recognition, and examine and submit current proof of working within DMAI’s high standards,” says John Meroski, FACVB President and CEO. “It was a long and valuable process and we are pleased that we are compliant on all of DMAI’s standards.”
Each DMAP accredited bureau is required to provide evidence of compliance with more than 90 mandatory and voluntary standards. The standards set by DMAP cover a wide variety of topics including governance, finance, management, human resources, technology, visitor services, group services, sales, communications, membership, brand management, destination development, research/market intelligence, innovation, and stakeholder relationships.
“DMAP accreditation requires DMOs like FACVB to truly evaluate and define not only their policies and procedures, but also determine their guiding principles with the ultimate goal of building a sense of pride in within the community when a DMO meets the highest standards in the industry,” said Virginia J.
