Bureau Adds Sales Manager
The Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (FACVB) recently added Sales Manager Stephanie Decatur to their team.
Stephanie secures sports tournaments and fraternal groups to hold their events in Cumberland County. Stephanie has worked in group sales at hotels, resorts and attractions in the south and northeast for 16 years. Her last position was as Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management for Hostmark Hospitality Group at two of their Holiday Inn locations. She has received more than 15 awards for excellence and industry certifications throughout her career.Read More

Cumberland County, NC- Earlier this month, the Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (FACVB) was recognized with reaccreditation through DMAI’s Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP). Developed by Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI), the industry-wide accreditation program distinguishes official destination marketing organizations committed to industry excellence and meeting the industry standard for performance and accountability of destination marketing organizations around the world. In 2015/16 Bureau Efforts Generated $8.1 Million Direct Spending in Cumberland County
Cumberland County, NC-- In FY 2015/16, the Fayetteville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (FACVB) secured 86 meetings, sports tournaments, reunions and group visits for future business in Cumberland County. These bookings represent more than 23,500 room nights at area hotels and a direct economic impact of $8.1 million. The indirect, rollover impact on our economy is $20.3 million.Read More
2016 Fayetteville Comic Con Expands to Full Weekend
Due to the overwhelming popularity of the inaugural Fayetteville Comic Con (FCC), planners expanded the 2016 con into a two-day special event that fills the entire Crown Expo Center. “We were blown away by the response to the 2015 FCC,” says planner Michael Chaudhuri. “To accommodate the demand, we expanded the both the days and the footprint for the event.”Read More
Honoring K-9 Veterans
Each Memorial Day, the Special Operations Forces (SOF) K9 Memorial Committee and the Airborne & Special Operations Museum (ASOM) hold a K9 Memorial Ceremony near “Constant Vigilance”, the world’s first memorial to SOF K9s killed in the line of duty. The 2016 ceremony will be held on Monday, May 30th at 12 noon on the grounds of the ASOM in Fayetteville.
“Constant Vigilance,” which was dedicated in July of 2013, honors canines from around the world. Surrounding stones have the dog’s birth and date killed in action. The plaque reads the Bond Between a SOF handler and his K9 is eternal. Trusting each other is a nameless language. Here we honor the SOF K9s that have paid the ultimate price.Read More
