Fayetteville, NC –International touring spoken-word poet Giddy Perez is the featured artist at the January 6Marquis Slam in Fayetteville. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, and currently residing in Tampa, Florida, Perez has numerous accolades including ranking 10th in the world at the World International Poetry Slam and twice placing 2nd with her team at the Southern Fried Poetry Slam, the 2nd largest poetry slam in the United States.

Christmas Every Day in Cumberland County

The day after Thanksgiving, the Christmas season is underway in Cumberland County. The season starts with the simple pleasures of Victorian Christmas celebration during Dickens Holiday, presented by the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County. From 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., visitors will find the streets of downtown Fayetteville bustling with characters from A Christmas Carol, carriage rides, the Gingerbread Community of Hope, exhibits on Victorian life and musical performances.
