The Coastal Plain League is home to some of the best collegiate prospects for Major League Baseball’s draft every year. This year alone, 76 CPL alumni showed up to Spring Training on a Big League roster, with many more spread throughout the league. This year’s All-Star festivities will showcase the best of the current CPL class, giving fans a true opportunity to see tomorrow’s stars, today.
The two-day event will feature a All-Star Fan Fest, All-Star Home Run Derby, and the eighteenth annual CPL All-Star Game. Fans will have multiple opportunities to interact with the future stars of tomorrow throughout the festivities.
The excitement kicks off on Sunday, July 10th with The Coastal Plain League All-Star Home Run Derby featuring a slugger from each of the sixteen clubs battling it out in three timed rounds to see who can mash the most home runs. The Home Run Derby will also present a great opportunity for fans to collect autographs from each All-Star, try their luck at one of the fan contests for prizes, and enjoy the fun filled atmosphere with the SwampDogs mascot Fun-Go.
All of the festivities culminate in The 18th Coastal Plain League All-Star Game on July 11th. Gates open at 6:00pm with the first pitch at 7:05pm. Each team from the CPL will be represented providing the best of what the league has to offer in one place.
