Embassy Suites to Host NC State Grange Employment Event
Fayetteville (NC) - When the North Carolina State Grange asked the North Carolina Department of Military and Veterans Affairs how they can show their appreciation to veterans. The response was simple: “Give them a job, our veterans need jobs.”
The NC State Grange took this advice to heart and set out to plan a large employment event for Veterans. The result – an event titled “Joining Forces to Bring Veterans and Careers Together,” will be held June 24th from 10 am to 3 pm at the Embassy Suites in Fayetteville.
According to the North Carolina Center for Military Employment, between 2015 and 2018 78,000 service members will transition out of NC installations. The NC State Grange wants to unite the military community with agribusiness and other industries to help veterans connect with job opportunities.
Agribusiness, finance, logistics, and manufacturing employers from across North Carolina are registered. North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, College of Agriculture and Life Science (NCSU), Fayetteville Technical Community College, and Mt. Olive University will attend, as well as Cumberland County Cooperative Extension and representatives from the United States Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency.
“Although many North Carolina businesses show support for military veterans, often there is not a mechanism to identify and hire these qualified and gifted candidates,” said Cape Fear Grange member Matthew Dansbury. “The North Carolina State Grange makes this a possibility by bringing employment opportunities and our veterans together.”
