  • Overview

The exhibit is composed of a segment of the World Trade Center’s steel truss recovered from Ground Zero as well a limestone exterior wall fragment from the Pentagon, donated by the Military District of Washington Engineer Company (later renamed the 911th for supporting rescue efforts at The Pentagon on 9/11). It is dedicated to the 2,977 victims who perished on that day, the thousands of first responders who suffered long-term health complications, and the military service members who answered the call to defend America’s freedom.  Since that day, more than 7,000 military service members have made the ultimate sacrifice and more than 50,000 have been wounded in action while fighting in the Global War on Terror.

This exhibit will be on display in the ASOM’s atrium through the end of September.
