All About That Brass with Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra

  • Overview

All About That Brass showcases the brass and percussion sections of your Fayetteville Symphony, presented in the beautiful and intimate setting of St. John’s Episcopal Church. Our program features some of the very best repertoire written for brass and percussion. Selections include a movement from Eric Ewazen’s joyful Symphony in Brass, music of Giovanni Gabrieli (the originator of the brass ensemble in the 16th Century), as well as 20th-century masterpieces by Samuel Barber and Dmitri Shostakovich. The program culminates with the epic Fanfares Liturgiques, a powerful four-movement work by the French composer, Henri Tomasi, written in 1947. Join us for this journey through time with the mighty Fayetteville Symphony brass.
