Icons in Transformation, an internationally renowned exhibit by Russian-born contemporary artist Ludmila Pawlowska, will be on display at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, beginning September 8. The exhibit will run through January 11, 2019. Guided tours will be conducted every Wednesday, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., and every third Saturday, from September through December, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Other times for viewing the exhibit may be arranged by appointment by calling or emailing the church office.
As a Russian-Swedish abstract expressionist, Pawlowska displays a unique, non-traditional iconography. To contrast and to complement her style, the exhibit also includes 15 traditional icons made by iconographers at the Vasilevsky Monastery, Suzdal, Russia.
In addition to the guided tours, the church is planning several events, open to the public. A full schedule of events associated with the exhibition will be available on the church’s website and Facebook page.
