This virtual program will be presented by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission’s District 4 Fisheries Biologist, Kyle Rachels. In this seminar, we will be discussing the Striped Bass and American Shad management in the Cape Fear River and will touch on its history, where we are now, and what we hope the fisheries will be, in the future. Kyle's presentation will focus on the current status of the stock including age and size classes, growth rates, and how these compare with other rivers in NC. Also, it touches on what we know about their habitat use and seasonal migrations in the Cape Fear. Kyle will discuss the evolution of the Commission’s management strategies in the Cape Fear River and the commission’s long-term goals for the future.
