Cape Fear Studios is pleased to announce a colorful experience with an exhibit of Donna Slade’s art titled “The Color of Ordinary." This exhibit features her intricate, and colorful colored pencil drawings. Donna is also teaching a 2-day workshop on colored pencil application at Cape Fear Studios, the 24th & 25th of September.
Donna is a Charter and Signature artist of the Colored Pencil Society of America and has earned local, national, and international recognition, winning fine art awards in solo and group exhibitions. Coming from a background in graphic design, she works primarily in colored pencils. She creates contemporary realism paintings featuring a straightforward approach to representational art. Observing closely, she has the desire to capture and portray a series of objects and their physical appearance as seen in reality.
The exhibit will be open to the public, from 23 September to 25 October. The exhibit opening is 4th Friday, 23 September, from 6 to 8 p.m. Please make plans to attend the opening and experience the interesting application of colored pencils. Cape Fear Studios is open Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Concurrently with “The Color of Ordinary” at Cape Fear Studios, Donna will have an exhibit titled, “The Faces of Columbia” at The Arts Council of Fayetteville. The exhibits open the same evening, 23 September, and are one block apart on Maxwell Street.
Please make plans to stop by and enjoy the locally created artworks displayed at the Cape Fear Studios' main exhibit and our retail section.
