"Wilmington on Fire" Film Screening and Panel Discussion

  • Overview

The Arts Council of Fayetteville-Cumberland County and the Black On Black Project will host a film screening of "Wilmington on Fire," a documentary about the only successful coup in United States history. It happened in Wilmington, N.C. in 1898, and the film documents an investigation into the massacre and undoing of Wilmington’s multiracial government. A panel discussion and conversation will follow the film screening with director Christopher Everett and team members from the film. The discussion will be facilitated by "Troublesome Presence" curator and Black On Black Project founder Michael S. Williams.
