The Marquis Slam providers poets a creative environment of expression for their voices and fuels artistic growth through competition and workshops, also educating and entertaining the community through the art of spoken word.

On the first Saturday of every month, The Marquis Slam is presented by Our P.L.A.C.E. and the Cumberland County Tourism Development Authority at The Arts Center in downtown Fayetteville, NC and hosted by Eean Tyson. Admission is $10, which includes a wristband. There will be food and drink available for purchase as well. Come enjoy dinner and an amazing show! Doors open at 7 p.m. & the event starts at 8 p.m.

A poetry slam is a competition at which poets read or recite original work. These performances are then judged on a numeric scale by previously selected members of the audience. Poetry Slam was invented to bring awareness to the art of Spoken Word!

This event follows the Poetry Slam Inc. rules and regulations. (
